Mary Jane Braide

Bio

For over a decade I've worked with some of Canada's most interesting private and public sector organizations on the fundamentals of how they address their markets, employees, suppliers, regulators and investors, at home and globally. I work independently but never alone and am fuelled by collaborations with fellow professionals and client teams.

Prior to starting my firm, I spent ten years as a management consultant with the Boston Consulting Group and its predecessor firms in Canada: The Canada Consulting Group; Cresap, MsCormick and Paget; and Peter Barnard Associates. My practice focused on organizational development and change management for corporations in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico, and I was publishing and speaking internationally on these topics.

I maintain a special interest in group facilitation and dialogue and in mentoring young leaders. I am a volunteer MaRS Discovery District Client Advisor in the Information, Communications and Entertainment Practice, a Rotman Mentor, a member of the Design with Dialogue group at OCAD University and a member of The NextGen Leaders Network. I am actively involved in community development at Open Studio, Parkdale Project Read, and for 11 years as a director of the not-for-profit, Canadian Scholarship Trust Foundation (CSTF), Canada's first and largest group RESP provider. I hold a Master of Arts in Economic Geography (Industrial and Commercial Location) from the University of Toronto and an Honours BA from Queen's University, Kingston.

Future Me

One of the advantages of being an entreprenuer is the freedom to expand professionally in pursuit of new ideas and relationships. Right now I'm deeply involved in a project to explore new thinking on the challenge of strategy execution and linking organizational performance more closely to value creation. I'm also investing in my group facilitation toollkit and am taking on more work in brand coaching and mentoring roles with senior leaders.
